Bianchi Infinito XE Disc Ultegra Carbon Road Bike

Bianchi Infinito XE

Sitting alongside the range topping Infinito CV, and sharing its race winning geometry, the Infinito XE has been designed as an all-round endurance race bike, so is ideal for anyone taking on a sportive or who just enjoys riding mid-long distances quickly and comfortably. The Infinito XE replaces the Intenso within Bianchi’s range, and introduces a more integrated look, alongside even greater levels of rough-road comfort and some aero tweaks for increased all-out performance. The design approach taken by Bianchi in designing the Infinito XE was to take well proven materials and their wealth of frame construction experience to deliver race-like performance married to high levels of comfort with a longer distance riding position. For a long day in the saddle the full carbon frame and fork delivers a bike that is as good to ride as it is to look at. Available in eight sizes and with a frame weighing just 1,100 grams, the Infinito XE helps you savour every pedal stroke. The clean lines of the bike are maintained with all hydraulic cables routed internally and the dedicated alloy seatpost has been developed for the ultimate streamlined, integrated look. The Infinito XE is exclusively built for disc brakes, with flat mount calipers. Thru axles both front (12x100mm) and rear (12x142mm) ensure no stress to the frame caused by braking, and with a tyre width compatibility up to 32mm the Infinito XE is capable of taking you further than ever before. While the Infinito XE features a slightly longer head-tube, it does not put the rider into the upright position that some other manufacturers have used in their endurance models. The slightly longer headtube eliminates the need for excessive use of spacers under the stem, thus reducing unnecessary flex in the headtube, but is not so long that it forces the rider into an unduly upright position. For the majority of riders who want a fast comfortable bike, there is nothing to be gained from an overly high position as it can lead to too much weight being carried through the lower back and compromised power transfer and handling.

Bianchi Infinito CV

The new Bianchi Infinito CV is a truly remarkable bike - it features the first frame in the world to use a revolutionary new material - Countervail, which quite simply cancels big road vibrations like no other frame material, leading to reduced muscle fatigue and greatly increased bike control.

While Countervail might sound like just another gimmick or marketing ploy, like frame inserts or micro-suspension devices, the proof is in the riding - and in test ride after test ride it simply takes on the roughest of road surfaces and places the rider in total control, with no sense whatsoever of being rattled or bucked around.

And we are not talking about ironing out a bit of "road chatter" here, we are talking Roubaix like surfaces. The final piece of good news is that the Infinito CV does all of this without removing the all important feedback that means the rider stays connected and in control at all times.

But the Infinito CV is not all about vibration, or the lack of it - it is a truly elegant bike with sweeping curves and striking but subtle graphics. Its classic Bianchi endurance bike geometry, as seen on the original Infinito and its 2014 replacement, the Intenso, gives the rider an optimum balance of race-like performance, comfort and stability - Countervail also means that Bianchi's designers are able to increase stiffness and responsiveness without any loss comfort! And the Infinito CV is no heavyweight either, with a 55cm frameset weighing in at just 990g.
